The award ceremony for the 2024 prize winners and the ceremonial presentation of the medal, certificate and pin took place on the occasion of the VDH Federal Winners Exhibition on November 9, 2024 in Dortmund. There, the prize winners were honored during the gala evening.
With the Baron von Gingins Memorial Medal, the VDH commemorates one of the founders of the German dog breed and honors personalities who have had a significant influence on pedigree dog breeding with outstanding achievements.
This year, Michael Lehmann (kennel Christi ORMOND) and Axel Möhrke received the Baron von Gingins Memorial Medal. Axel Möhrke's daughters accepted the medal on their behalf.
The Baron von Gingins Medal is not awarded for commitment to club offices, as is the case with the VDH's gold badge of honor, but rather it is the association's highest cynological award.
